Description
- Jin is a multilayered weave, also called Turned Taquete.
- Grisaille is a painting technique using gray scale or other neutral colors- here, I dye black, white, gray and beige silk for the warp.
- The weft here is all a fine silk in chartreuse, a yellowy green, also hand-dyed.
- The patterns are evocative of natural forms such as wood grain.
- Look closely, you can see through the layers.
- The weave draws you in, I’ll be doing larger pieces in the near future.
- The scarf is very flexible and wearable.
